I don’t know about you, but I am beat.
You may have noticed a few changes in appearance at this little blog. I’ve been playing around with the layout and I’d love your feedback!
As for weekend plans, I have a long run (as long as my feet cooperate), a baby shower and possible dinner with friends. At the very least, I have some much needed hubby-time penciled in and I cannot wait!
Other than that, I don’t have to much to report today, but I wanted to share this garden picture… mostly because I think it’s pretty neat.
Squash has taken over the garden!
I realize I haven’t been posting much about the garden this year, so to be continued!
Happy Weekend! Any big plans?
What are you growing this season?
You guys! Oh man, you guys! I have so many things to tell you.
First, my online class starts soon and I am beyond excited!
It’s March 21 and the ground is covered in snow. What is this crap? The joys of upstate NY living.
I have made a decision about the marathon.
I’m getting excited for racing this year.
Race planning has officially taken over my life. I admit it.
I am okay with that because I know it’s all for a great cause. And I know if James were here, he’d be so happy.
That being said… I’m still behind on blogging, so I decided to call in reinforcements. I’ve got some guest posters lined up that you are going to love. These people inspire me in so many ways and I cannot wait to introduce them to you!
My current food obsessions are as follows:
Mashed avocado with black pepper, parsley, scallions and lime juice
Giant salads with sprouts and hard-boiled eggs
Bagels. Everything bagels.
While planning a race (I’m sorry… I can’t help it), I’m learning a lot about people:
They can be incredibly kind, helpful and giving. Some days I am just overwhelmed by all the help, donations and kind gestures the race committee has received.
I’ve also found that people can be very…funny. They can be conniving, evasive and sometimes, downright rude!
But for the most part, people are good. And our group has been very blessed.
Speaking of which, we’re going to have some amazing prizes for the race. I am so excited.
Also, I love Farmer Ben. He is pretty great.
In the last month, I have been to two baby showers. That is more baby showers than I’ve been to…. ever… maybe.
I also have a wedding this weekend (and a mini college reunion!).
And a bridal shower next weekend.
When did I get so old?! And furthermore, how is it that so many of my friends have children?! I mean… I know how…. but, aren’t I still 18 years old?
Food for thought from Noelle’s Notebook.
WordPress just informed me that I have been blogging for a year… And to be honest, I can’t believe it!
Has it really been a year since I told you about my crazy wedding photo journey?
This got me thinking… what’s changed in the last year?
I’ve made peace with turning 25. Sort of.
I’ve learned a lot of new things. And discovered a lot about myself and those around me.
I’ve lost 28 lbs. After getting married, I gained some weight. A lot more weight than I wanted to. I started and stopped trying to lose weight a few times, and then…about 6 months ago, something clicked. I still have a few more pounds to lose, but I am feeling pretty darn good lately. I’m also in a size I haven’t worn since high school…and I am okay with that.
I am back to running. Last year, I did some running…on occassion. But this year, I am a runner.… I’m doing crazy overnight races… and huge races in other states… and now I am planning more races. Some say I’ve lost my mind, but I think I am just finding it.
I also joined in on some online fun. I never would have done this a year ago because I considered myself a rebel… And I still am of sorts… but now I am embracing this whole internet community thing. I dig it. I love hearing from new people and learning about them.
People I love have passed… but I’m keeping their memory alive and working to do great things in their honor.
Things that still haven’t changed?
I still love pickles.
I still don’t like flavored yogurt.
I hate styrofoam.
I still cook/bake with booze.
I still heart my hubby.
I heart local food. Obvoduh.
And I am still super excited, blessed and thrilled that you’re reading…especially those of you who have been there since the beginning. Thank you for taking the time to read, comment and support me.
Anyway, it’s been a pretty great year in the world of Noelle’s Notebook….and I hope for many more!
Much Love. Happy Almost Turkey Day.
This is a special post. Number 100 to be exact.
It feels like just yesterday that I started this crazy blog and I hope to continue the tradition of weird over-shares, general mishaps and fun.
I’ve been trying to come up with some crazy and over the top for my hundredth post… but frankly, I’ve been busy…and tired. …and I’m really good at making excuses…
Anyway, instead of something crazy and over the top, here are some photos of my life lately… I love it.
Summer sunsets-I took this yesterday during my cool down. I love the view on my road. Beautiful.
Ben and I went to a friend’s house last weekend to help him do something with his abundance of Roma tomatoes-as you can see, we filled an 18 gallon tub and found the biggest beat I’ve ever seen….needless to say, he’ll have enough marinara and barbecue sauce for a looooooooong time!
Farmer Ben and I also did some shopping this weekend. I finally broke down and bought a new pair of sneakers. So far I am loving them, but I am still getting used to the color.
Our anniversary was ten days ago. I suprised Ben and we took a trip to the Finger Lakes… here are some photos from our mini-roadtrip…
I love you all, too. Thanks for reading and sticking around!
Stay tuned for my weekly GBN post!!!
